What will the future hold?

People often wonder if the bald eagle will be ok from now on.  Most people think so, and they will only if we take the proper procautions.  the birds can not do it on their own because there are still ignorant people out there who won't listen to what people say and will try to make bald eagles extinct even though they think they are doing whats right.  There are still two federal laws which help to keep people from doing anything stupid.  The Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 and the Bald Eagle Protection Act of 1940 are two laws which basically prohibit the killing of bald eagles, and from trading their parts.  Neither law protects habitat for the birds, which is a very important part of increaing their population, so just these treaties aren't enough.  The population will continue to increase if we stop and think about what we are doing.  More things in the future could develop which could hinder the prosperity of the bald eagle.  There could be a new drug like the DDT scare that could do damage, or a new disease.  If we can be more aware of the still current problems, the bald eagle could be upgraded from threatened to prosperous in the next few years.
